An electrical engineer by trade, I started my career in Maintenance planning and SAP consulting, started to work as a SAP PM/MM consultant and shared in SHELL EGYPT SAP implementation, and then moved into an instrument Maintenance career. I gained an experience in Planning and SAP Software, I used this experience in my maintenance career to develop the work environment.

As a site engineer, I working on a rotation basis, so I have the opportunity to share in a lot of SAP projects as s part-time with different roles and to work as a maintenance planner.

I have demonstrated success in leveraging my planning experience and project management to innovate, reduce maintenance costs, and delivery times, and reduce shutdown periods whilst ensuring safe and high quality. I demonstrate expertise in interpreting any work scope, standards, and specifications to ensure compliance.  I bring excellent communication and team-working skills and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders through a multi-cultural experience background.

Professional Experience

Instrument Maintenance Engineer: BAPETCO (BADR petroleum company) | 01/2011 – until now

Badr Petroleum Company is a joint venture company between SHELL and EGPC (Egyptian Government Petroleum Company) until the end of 2021. Then, CAIRN and CHEIRON bought SHELL shares. I worked in the OBAIYED field (OBAIYED field is an oil and condensate field with a total production of 400 Million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) and around 17K barrels per day ). My Duties included

  • About 12 years of experience as an Instrument/Metering engineer in detailed maintenance, validation, and development coordination of Instrument/Metering systems in Oil& Gas Field and Upgrading projects.
  • Prepare maintenance reports for the field/maintenance Manager and discuss these reports with management
  • Prepare/discuss yearly budget with management and prepare write-off forms.
  • prepare, discuss, and manage the contract’s Scope of work and lead the contractor during the execution
  • Carry out maintenance for packages with different PLC manufacturers; Allen Bradley “Compact Logix”, Siemens Step 7, ScadaPack 334/337, Modicon & Trident PLC.
  • Calibrate and repair the condition monitoring systems (Bentley Nevada 3500) for all types of rotating equipment.
  • Carry out Maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration for all field devices from Pneumatic Devices to Foundation Field Bus devices.
  • Field assistance and supervision in the construction phase for equipment installation, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Start-Up, and provide technical support for commissioning activities
  • Participate in reviewing the Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the new Plant.
  • Participate in reviewing the Pre‐commissioning Manuals, and share in preparing the Commissioning procedures.
  • Participate in Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP) for the new Plant.
  • Carry out troubleshooting ESD & DCS system (Triconex & Foxboro I/A system).
  • Participate in SAT activities for Fiscal Oil Metering System which consists of Smith PD meter “H8” & Summit Flow Computer.
  • Very good experience in gas measurement and fiscal Instrument/Metering utilizing the latest techniques of ultrasonic flow meter and quality measurement and analyzing equipment like Gas Chromatographs, Impurities-in-gas analyzers, Moisture, and dew point analyzers……. etc.

  • Experienced in configuration and Periodical Maintenance for Gas chromatographs such as Emerson Rosemount analytical, Hydrocarbon/Water dewpoint analyzers such as AMETEK /BOVER

Key Projects & Achievements:

Obaiyed/Meleiha/Salam/Tarek Metering Cabinets Upgrade (800K EURO)

The project aimed to upgrade the metering cabinets in three gas production plants Salam Gas plant ( total gas production of 400 million standard Cubic feet), Tarek Gas plant (total gas production of 100 million standard Cubic feet), and Obaiyed Gas plant (total gas production of 400 million standard Cubic feet) 

My role started with preparing the scope of work of the project, preparing and reviewing all engineering documents, commissioning, and startup with the system packager company

Maintenance Planning Engineer and SAP consultant: EPSCO(Egyptian Petroleum Services Company) | 01/2007 – 01/2011

EPSCO is a company that Provides services to petroleum companies in the petroleum sector. I worked as a Maintenance Planning/Scheduler and SAP consultant at BAPETCO (BADR Petroleum Company). My Duties included

Planning Activities

•     Carry out day-to-day maintenance planning activities such as scheduling, planning, and preparing 14-day plans, follow-up maintenance purchasing orders, and chairing daily notification meeting …. Etc.

  • Carry out daily notification and YTT(Yesterday-Today-tomorrow) & TRA(Task risk assessment) meetings with leading the notification discussion by risk matrix (CMPT)

•     Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports and KPIs.

•     Prepare the inventory reports and check the material available for the maintenance work

  • Follow-up spare parts, consumables, and services purchase requisitions to ensure timely delivery, especially for major

overhauls

•     Check the corrective work order to analyze the performance of all rotating equipment

•     Prepare and Manage Plant partial, and total shutdown activities, and prepare all shutdown reports.

  • Arrangement for Major overhauls planning and scheduling process, and review/update of maintenance job plans and

standard procedures.

•     prepare shutdown plans/documents according to company strategy

  • Managing turnaround communications and coordination between all site teams
  • Plan, schedule, and report plant shutdowns and prepare work scope, required spare parts, manpower, and resources. Also, follow up activities progress and variance reports and Generate close-out reports for the shutdown.

•     Assist with Corporate ERP Audits and other Internal Audits

  • Implementation of the “Safety Critical Elements Management” process (Maintenance Integrity) and owning all Integrity Assurance master data

SAP Activities

  • Implementing and Validating Master Data in SAP including all Technical Objects, Asset hierarchy, and Preventive Maintenance Planning (Creating & Modifying Maintenance Items, Strategies, Task Lists, and Scheduling Plans)
  • Updating the SAP master data on weekly bases e.g. The achieved running hours of the equipment, the function locations ….. etc.
  • Create /modify PM hierarchy and job plans, generate annual PM plans, analyze workload, and reschedule the annual plans
  • Interact with SAP users and extend support to chronic problems.
  • Training instructor by Preparation of SAP Training material and providing post-training support in familiarization of SAP transactions and extensive use of SAP reports via net-meeting & office training (I trained more than 500 end users and around 30 super users for using SAP) in Obaiyed field, bed-3 fields, main office.
  • Prepare SAP uploading template and assist in uploading them

 


Key Projects & Achievements:

  • Share in Shell Egypt SAP Blueprint implementation for both SHELL and BAPETCO
    • BAPETCO contains thousands of Equipment also turbines, compressors, and pumps so reviewing/planning this huge number of equipment consider a challenge for anyone.
  • Working in three turnarounds in the BED-3 field (BED-3 is an oil and gas production field located in Egypt’s western desert with a total production of around 300 million standard Cubic feet)
    • completed turnaround within the turnaround window and start-up without any remaining work and Minimize the deferment, and coordination between all stakeholders owners, and subcontractors consider a challenge for any one.
